Welcome to Horizon Kids

A Little About Us

We have the ability to offer early childhood education through play and exploration. Our small community offers a personal and intimate learning experience. We are a family owned and operated school where child development is our highest priority. We provide the foundation for children to learn and grow physically, emotionally, and developmentally. Our goal is to instill love, friendship and a lifelong passion to learn.
Our childcare learning facility is located on family land, in a secure location on the southside of Santa Fe, that provides gorgeous sites and nature walks and offers endless adventure. We are eager to begin learning with you and welcome you to our Horizon Kids family!

Meet the Director

Hi, I’m Alexa Haley Dalton. I’m a mother to two children. My son is six years old and my daughter is two years old. I have a strong passion for working with children and my greatest joys in life are being a mother, wife and teacher. I have my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. I am CPR and first aid certified and hold current New Mexico teaching licenses. I taught Kindergarten for three years, worked as an assistant director at a local childcare facility, and worked at other daycare centers in Santa Fe. My passion and experience provide me the necessary skills and knowledge to best benefit the early childhood education experience for young children. I was born and raised in Santa and my love for Santa Fe and the community motivates me to become an influential part of the culture. I look forward to meeting all of the wonderful children and look forward to the future of Horizon Kids Learning Center!

Teaching Philosophy

“My philosophy is that children are all unique and have unique learning styles. The individuality of each child is what makes the world so wonderful. I believe there is not one style that fits all to teaching and multiple approaches must be utilized to best benefit and enrich the learning experience of the school. I am a strong believer that the early years in a child’s education will shape their desire to learn throughout their lives.”
